If you or your company have hired someone to created web site, you have probably invested enough that you would like to protect it. If you are a library or museum, you may have special considerations.
  • How do I copyright my page?

  • What is a domain?
A domain is a name that you choose as your web site address. It's what people type into their browsers to get to your Web site. For example, snowdogstudios.net is a registered domain name for Snow Dog Studios. Clients who don't have a domain name can pay to register one when they purchase any web design package.
  • How do I register a domain?
Domain name registration through Snow Dog Studios is available with the purchase of any Web Hosting package.
  • How much does it cost to register a domain?
A new two-year domain registration costs $40. Each year thereafter will cost $25.00 to maintain the registration.
  • If I already have a domain can I still use it?

  • What is a search engine?
Web visitors generally use search engines to find sites matching their search criteria. The visitor enters words or phrases in the search area, and the search engine produces a list of related sites. The search engine provides this information after conducting a more comprehensive search using indexing software agents, often called "robots" or "spiders."

These robots and spiders are programmed to "crawl" the Internet in search of new or updated web sites. The search engine becomes aware of a new site to visit and index when that site is submitted.

  • Can Snow Dog Studios submit my site to search engines?
Yes. When you are ready to promote your web site, Snow Dog Studios offers Search Engine Submission as an optional feature that you can add to your web hosting package. Our basic search engine submission submission plan will submit your web site to Yahoo, Google, Ask Jeeves and MSN.
  • What is "Optimizing"?
In their most basic form, web sites are lines of code consisting of words. Your web browser, typically Internet Explorer, interprets these lines of instructions, and produces the image you see on your screen. When search engines browse the internet, they are looking for particular lines of code that descibe the site and it's content. If the web site has not been designed with this information, the search engine will have difficulty categorizing your site.
  • Can Snow Dog Studios optimize my site even if it was designed by someone else?
Yes. One of our designers will analyze the HTML source code, and make the oppropriate changes to make the web site more easily searchable. It will be necessary to conduct a brief interview, to discuss your products and/or services, and determine the target audience in which you intend to attract.

  • Does my web site package include mailboxes?
Yes. You will receive up to 30 mailboxes with your basic web hosting package. You may also purchase additional mailboxes for a small fee.
  • Are there web design packages I can choose from?
Yes. Snow Dog Studios offers variouis Web Design Packages ranging in flexability and price. Visit our Pricing page for packages available.
